It was a very well attended day, almost 400 people visited. There were displays of photographs and memorabilia of Newlyn in WW 1 & WW 2. Photos of Newlyn, Penzance and Pirates rugby teams going back to early 20th, C. Masses of photographs of school children, fishermen and boats, and a section on naming artists models from the Newlyn Colony days. A large number of people were identified in the old pictures of all the above groups much to the satisfaction of the Archive Group. There was a fun competition to name the faces of past notable Newlyners.
The Archive Group are putting on another exhibition on Saturday, 6 March 2010 at the Centre, Newlyn called “Newlyn and its Fishing Boats”.
